When was the last time you visited the historic city of Melaka? Melaka is renowned for its historic tourist attractions, and there are plenty of exciting activities to enjoy while you’re there. If you are planning a visit to Melaka soon, we suggest taking a road trip on February 20, 2024 (Tuesday). But why specifically choose February 20?
Well, the good news is that the Melaka State Government is offering FREE ENTRY to Malaysians at 10 selected iconic tourist places, and it only lasts for one day. This free entry is in conjunction with the public holiday commemorating the Independence of the Federation of Malaya. According to the post published on the Tourism Melaka Facebook Page, they have listed the 10 most iconic tourist places where entry will be free for the entire day.

1. Melaka River Cruise
The Melaka River Cruise is offering free river cruises for all Malaysians on that date. You can ride the cruise from Quayside Jetty, Taman Rempah Jetty, or Pengkalan Rama Jetty. The free ride is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2. Menara Taming Sari
Patrons can enjoy free entry to Menara Taming Sari and experience the scenic view of Melaka City from its 360-degree tower.
3. Melaka Museum & Gallery
If you’re into history, you can have a greater understanding of the culture in Melaka by visiting the Melaka Museum & Gallery. It’s definitely worth visiting once you’re in Melaka.
4. Melaka Zoo & Bird Park
One of the best places to visit in Melaka is undoubtedly Melaka Zoo & Bird Park, where kids can delight in sightseeing various animals and colourful birds, ensuring an enjoyable experience. However, please note that free entry is granted on a ‘First Come, First Serve’ basis. There will be two separate sessions available on that day: the first session starts at 10 a.m., and the second session begins at 2 p.m.

6. Melaka Wonderland Theme Park & Resort
Visitors are welcome to enjoy free entry to Melaka Wonderland Theme Park & Resort on February 20, 2024. Additionally, visitors will receive a 20 per cent discount on selected water activities, including Paddle Boat, Tube Ride, Fish Feeding, and Rabbit Feeding. Don’t miss the chance to experience ‘Luna Lights Wonderland’ at the theme park from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
7. Melaka Marine Park
Melaka Marine Park is offering various water activities for you to enjoy, such as scuba diving, underwater photography, island hopping, and snorkelling at Pulau Nangka, Pulau Undan, and Pulau Dodol. Entry to these tourist spots is free; however, all the activities mentioned are subject to separate fees.
