I-Berhad has soft-opened the AI World Experience Centre at its 72-acre i-City development, marking the first physical activation of AI World, Malaysia’s first artificial intelligence-enabled urban precinct.
The Experience Centre, which will be officially opened to the public on January 13, 2026, introduces visitors to a large-scale, immersive environment showcasing artificial intelligence and humanoid robotics. Designed as an interactive learning space, the centre demonstrates how AI could be embedded across future residential, commercial, wellness, and lifestyle environments within i-City.

Developed in collaboration with AGIBOT, the centre features 100 humanoid robots, offering hands-on exposure through interactive exhibitions and live demonstrations. The initiative aims to make AI more accessible by allowing visitors to experience intelligent systems in real-world, everyday contexts rather than abstract concepts.
“AI can feel distant to many people, Robotics changes that. When people can see intelligence in motion and interact with it directly, AI becomes easier to understand, less intimidating, and far more engaging,” said Eu Hong Chew, Director of I-Berhad.
He added that the centre is designed primarily as an educational platform, particularly for younger generations.

“This centre is not just about showcasing AI and robotics technology. It is about building understanding, sparking curiosity and preparing our community, especially our young people, for a future shaped by artificial intelligence and robotics… At its core, the AI Experience Centre is an education space. Not education defined by exams, but by exploration, interaction and hands-on discovery,” Eu said.
The soft opening ceremony was attended by several key stakeholders, including representatives from the Malaysian Tourism Promotion Board and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority, reflecting broader public-sector interest in the project’s role in technology adoption, tourism, and talent development.
Beyond public engagement, the Experience Centre aligns with I-Berhad’s wider strategy of integrating AI into daily urban operations. This includes smart facilities management, hospitality services, wellness support, and intelligent environments that enhance both efficiency and user experience.
As part of this strategy, I-Berhad also plans to deploy Robotics-as-a-Service across its investment property portfolio, introducing AI-driven automation into property management, hospitality, lifestyle services, and asset operations. The move is expected to improve operational efficiency while creating recurring income streams for the group.
The AI World Experience Centre represents the first tangible milestone in the rollout of AI World, which forms a core component of I-Berhad’s remaining approximately MYR 5 billion ($1.22 billion) gross development value within i-City. Over time, the broader AI World precinct is envisioned to integrate AI-centric commercial, residential, and wellness concepts, supporting the group’s transition from a traditional property developer into a technology-enabled urban platform.
