The next generation of pickleball players took centre stage at the Empire NextGen Series Championship 2026, held on 30 and 31 May 2026 at Empire Pickle Club, Kota Kemuning. Supported by Equiptox, the tournament brought together young athletes and amateur players from across the region for two days of competitive action, making it one of the most exciting youth-focused pickleball events in the country.
With Junior and Combined categories on offer and a total prize pool of RM39,470, the championship attracted emerging talents eager to test their skills on a larger stage.

A Platform For Future Champions
More than just a competition, the Empire NextGen Series Championship 2026 was designed as a professional-level tournament for young and amateur athletes.
The championship welcomed many promising players from Southeast Asian countries, giving them an opportunity to compete, gain valuable experience, and develop their potential in a structured competitive environment.
By exposing young athletes to professional tournament standards, organisers hope to accelerate their development and prepare them for higher levels of competition in the years ahead.
For many participants, the tournament represented more than a chance to win prizes. It was also an opportunity to challenge themselves against strong opponents, learn from competition, and experience the atmosphere of a major sporting event.

Equiptox Supports Active Lifestyles By Empowering The Next Generation Of Pickleball Players
Supporting the championship was Equiptox, which shares the vision of encouraging healthier and more active lifestyles through sports participation.
Speaking during the event, Dr Janet highlighted one of the qualities that makes pickleball different from many other sports.
According to her, pickleball is unique because of its ability to bring people together regardless of age, background, or profession.
She noted that it is common to see children, adults, senior citizens, business owners, professionals, and students sharing the same court and enjoying the game together.
This creates a welcoming environment that helps foster friendships, community engagement, and healthy lifestyles.
Dr Janet explained that this inclusive nature is one of the key reasons pickleball has experienced such rapid growth around the world.
For Equiptox, supporting events such as the Empire NextGen Series Championship aligns with its commitment to initiatives that encourage people to stay active while building stronger communities through sport.
