Apple has officially announced the latest iPhone 14 series along with the official Malaysian pricing and availability details. According to Apple, there are a total of 4 models namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. iPhone 14 Plus is the new addition that offers an “affordable” large-scree iPhone model.
Let’s take a look at the features of the new iPhone 14 lineup:
The design of each model is not really different from previous models. However, the latest models have implemented a new feature which is called “Dynamic Island”. Dynamic Island functioned whenever users receive an alert, notification or phone call, the Dynamic Island box will pop up and take over the notch’s area. Besides, plenty of other activities such as music playback, Face ID detection, battery charging status, clock timer and even live scores from a sports event will also appear on the Dynamic Island box.
If you’re looking at the camera system, there is a TrueDepth camera system that is being housed inside the notch which features a 12MP sensor with an f/1.9 six-element lens and improved Cinematic Mode video shooting capability with up to 4K HDR at 30 fps.
The rear camera on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max comes with a 48MP f/1.78 quad-pixel main camera alongside a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and a 12MP f/2.8 telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. Furthermore, Apple has upgraded the middle section of the 48MP sensor to deliver 2x optical zoom at 12MP resolution without resorting to digital zoom.
It is also worth highlighting that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max now have Action Mode which provides gimbal-like stabilisation while Cinematic Mode now supports up to 4K HDR at 30 fps. It is also worth noting that Apple has also introduced Photonic Engine into both models which helped boost the mid-to low-light performance on all of their cameras by implementing Deep Fusion.

The prices for the new iPhone 14 series increased significantly due to the current weak Ringgit currency. The prices for the new iPhone 14 increased on averagely by RM300-RM700 ( depending on the model and storage model). For instance, the latest iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1TB storage costs RM8,299, while last year’s iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB was launched for RM7,599 only.
Pre-orders for the latest iPhone 14 series will start on Friday, 16 September and will be available on the official Apple store as well as participating telcos and retailers.
