Ferrari has recently introduced a new mid-rear-engined Berlinetta supercar to its lineup in early 2022, the Ferrari 296 GTB. The model has received a lot of buzz among the fans of the Prancing Horse or supercars in general since the model was unveiled in 2021.
This new model, the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB, is basically a replacement for the special Ferrari F8 Tributo, which explains the identical design between these supercars. Even though the design is almost identical, Ferrari has significantly improved the design details and features in the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB, making this model superior to Ferrari F8 Tributo.

Ferrari has improved the 2022 Ferrari 296GTB by making this lineup model a plug-in hybrid compared to F8 Tributo, which used a combustion engine car with a twin-turbocharged 3.9-litre V8 engine. This makes the 2022 Ferrari 296GTB the third hybrid Ferrari after the 2021 SF90 Stradale and the LaFerrari hypercar, which resembles the 296 GTB. The hybrid build in the 296GTB is made for a track which can give a maximized driving pleasure compared to those previous F8 Tributo, SF90 Stradale and LaFerrari hypercar models. Hence of the improvement made, the 296GTB might eventually end up among the best Ferrari ever made.
High-Performance Hybrid Drivetrain

The 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB is powered by a unique 2996-cc twin-turbo V6 engine which is the very first six-cylinder engine to be put on a road automobile with the prancing horse badge. The V6 engine is capable of delivering 654 horsepower, which is equivalent to 218-horsepower per litre, which, according to Ferrari, is the highest specific output of any production car on sale. Furthermore, with the combination of the V6 engine with an electric motor, the 296 GTB got a combined total of 819hp and 740Nm of torque which propels you from 0-100km/h in just 2.9 seconds and to 200km/h in 7.3 seconds.
Enhanced Cool Exterior and Interior Features

Ferrari has improved the design of the 296GTB by making the supercar shape look more elegant and unique by having storage space in front of the car, while at the end of the supercar’s roof, Ferrari placed a spoiler which helps the 296GTB reduce drag. Plus, the 296GTB Ferrari features a glass tailgate that showcases the V6 engine mounted at the rear, making the supercar look even more sporty and different from the other Ferrari model.
As for the interior, the 296 GTB has been designed as an elegant and clean design in which the dashboard is designed to be more of a driver-focused vehicle as there aren’t any big fancy screens that stick out like a sore thumb on the centre console.
Additional Features

Ferrari can be seen to have done much work in developing the 296 GTB because of the improvement they made compared to the previous model. For one, Ferrari has improved the 296 GTB braking system by using a brake-by-wire system controlled through electricity, reducing the braking time, and the car wheel can be braked individually. Aside from that, Ferrari also added some new components to the 296 GTB, such as 6-way chassis dynamic sensor (6W-CDS) and Transition Manager Actuator (TMA), which help to gather data for driver assistance features.
Lastly, Ferrari has built the Ferrari 296 GTB in two electric drive modes: pure electric and hybrid. While in electric-only mode, the plug-in hybrid supercar can reach a top speed of 135km/h without exhaustion and switching to the internal combustion engine. As for the hybrid model, the 296 GTB receives a backup from the internal combustion engine if additional power is required.
How Much Will It Cost Me?
The 296GTB price has been set in Malaysia Market starting from RM1,228,000, inclusive of a 7-year maintenance programme.
