Dewakan is a blend of the Malay words for “god” and “food.” More than just a restaurant, Dewakan aims to forge meaningful connections with the people and cultures reflected in every ingredient. Just recently, Dewakan was given two Michelin stars.
Led by Chef Darren Teoh, the innovative team at Dewakan takes pride in honouring and serving the bounty of local lands, paying tribute to farmers, fishers, and artisans. Chef Darren weaves indigenous ingredients from Malaysia’s farms, jungles, mountains, and seas, transforming them into a culinary canvas on each plate.

Chef Darren’s menu at Dewakan is a unique blend of familiar and new, drawing from shared gastronomic heritage and using the finest local ingredients. Some are seasonal, some foraged, and others rediscovered from the depths of cultural heritage and childhood memories. Each ingredient serves a purpose, prompting diners to broaden their culinary horizons and consider the bigger picture of how we eat.
